Face to Face Learning

We're happy to announce that all lessons are held in person again. While we were all in lockdown our tutors were able to teach online from our studios and stream directly to your home. The response to these lessons was great, however we're glad to see everyone back in person.

Sam is the Founder of Morley’s Music Academy and is a highly recognised professional musician that actively plays within the industry. His approach and passion towards education has led him to build the Academy and in the process, gain a team of tutors that share the same likeminded attitude towards learning where engagement and inspiration are essential. Sam has been teaching drum lessons in Southend for the last 8 years.

As a touring professional, he is an expert in his field having played with many high profile artists across the world and performed at some of UK and Europe’s biggest music festivals. These include Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Eurosonic, ADE along with headline slots at Lowlands Festival and many more. This experience enables him to bring an exciting, modern approach to tuition that has seen many of his students achieve their own goals.

His eclectic taste and style in music makes for an engaging and challenging lesson structure whereby students will be encouraged to broaden their knowledge of not just their instrument but music in general. It is essential for a tutor to work closely with a student and be able to understand their unique reasons for learning. When growing up, much of Sam's early musical inspiration and knowledge was gained from his Dad who was a professional musician and drum teacher from Leigh on Sea.

Matt started drums at age 11 and studied music through to Undergraduate level. He received a 2:1 BMus (Hons) Degree in Popular Music Performance.

As a drum tutor, he balances grade work with industry skills and knowledge, in order to prepare aspiring students for situations they may face in their own musical careers.
